Appledale

APPLEDALE, 15 km south of SLOCAN on the Slocan R in the W KOOTENAY, is a farming settlement named for the area's extensive orchards. Many DOUKHOBORS moved here in the early 1900s. There is a golf course nearby. See also TREE FRUITS.
