ARMSTRONG, city, pop 4,256, is located in the N OKANAGAN VALLEY, surrounded by the district municipality of SPALLUMCHEEN. The first settlers lived 5 km away at Lansdowne until 1892, when the SHUSWAP & OKANAGAN RWY bypassed Lansdowne's hilly location and caused the town to relocate to its present site.
