ARRAS, pop 197, is a small agricultural community and service centre in the PEACE R district, 20 km west of DAWSON CREEK on the Kiskatinaw R and Hwy 97. It was named in 1923 by the first postmaster, R. Souter, who fought in the battle of Arras during WWI.
