DAVIS, John "Jack," engineer, economist, politician (b 31 July 1916, Kamloops; d 28 Mar 1991, Vancouver). After graduating from UBC in 1938 he went on to graduate studies at McGill Univ in Montreal and Oxford Univ in England. He then settled in VANCOUVER, where from 1955 to 1957 he served as senior economist with the Royal Commission on Canada's Economic Prospects, then became director of research and planning for BC ELECTRIC RWY CO and BC HYDRO until 1962.
