DEWDNEY, a small community on Nicomen Slough east of MISSION in the FRASER VALLEY, was an early riverboat stop originally known as Johnson's Landing after N.C. Johnson, a local farmer. By the mid-1880s a school, several stores and the CPR line served the area's farmers and their families. The Dewdney Trunk Rd, first thoroughfare on the north side of the FRASER R, was completed through here in 1900.
