Egret

EGRET is a type of HERON, typically white, of which 2 species are found in BC. The cattle egret (Bubulcus ibis) is a small, stocky bird occasionally seen in winter in cow pastures and other open habitats, primarily in southern BC including VANCOUVER ISLAND. The great egret (Casmerodius albus) is a rare visitor to the Lower Mainland, southeast Vancouver Island and the southern Interior.
