Fort Stikine


FORT STIKINE  () was an HBC trading post at the mouth of the STIKINE R on Wrangell Island. Built by the Russians in 1834 and called Fort St Dionysius, it became HBC property in 1840 following Russian agreement to lease the Alaska Panhandle to the HBC.
