Fort Ware


FORT WARE, pop 242 (2021), also known as Kwadacha, is a remote SEKANI community on the FINLAY R, north of WILLISTON RESERVOIR about 800 km north of PRINCE GEORGE. A group of Sekani moved here in 1917 and shortly after the HBC established a trading post, also called WHITEWATER. Most residents are hunters and trappers; some work in LOGGING.
