Fox, Terrance Stanley "Terry"

FOX, Terrance Stanley "Terry," runner (b 28 July 1958, Winnipeg; d 28 June 1981, New Westminster). He moved to PORT COQUITLAM as a youngster with his family and after losing a leg to bone cancer in 1977 he decided to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. His "Marathon of Hope" began at St John's, NF, on 12 Apr 1980 and continued until Sept 1, when he reached Thunder Bay, ON, a distance of 5,373 km.
