Genome Sequence Centre

GENOME SCIENCES CENTRE, located in VANCOUVER at the BC Cancer Research Centre, is the first gene science program in Canada devoted to cancer research and treatment. Established in 1999 under the direction of Dr Michael SMITH, a 1993 Nobel Prize laureate, the centre is part of the Human Genome Project, a global team of scientists and research centres working to discover the location of genes and their specific roles in illness and health.
