Gitnadoix River


GITNADOIX RIVER flows 100 km from Alastair Lk north to its confluence with the SKEENA R 50 km west of TERRACE. It drains a 580 sq km watershed that is protected as the Gitnadoix River Recreation Area. The name derives from a TSIMSHIAN word meaning "people of the swift water." The river is considered to be of outstanding recreational and environmental significance. It is an important SALMON river.
