GLYNN-WARD, Hilda (pseudonym for Mrs Hilda Williams Howard), writer (b 1887, Wales; d Victoria, 1966). Educated in her native Wales, she came to Canada in 1910 and spent most of the rest of her life in the VICTORIA area. In 1920 she began writing as a freelance journalist. Her novel The Writing on the Wall, published in 1921 by the VANCOUVER SUN, was a virulently racist diatribe against Asian immigration.
