Gordon, Jean


GORDON, Jean, bowler (b 28 Aug 1951, Vancouver). One of Canada's least-known world champions, she was working as a laboratory technologist in VANCOUVER when she won the 1980 Women's World Cup of 10-pin bowling in Jakarta, Indonesia. She bowled for a 603 average over the 3-game finals. To get to Jakarta she stepped up her bowling routine of one night per week to win citywide, provincial, national and zone qualifying rounds. Gordon also qualified for the 1983 and 1987 world championships.
