JAZZ music generally has benefitted greatly from BC talent. Phil Nimmons (b Kamloops 1923), a clarinetist, is a highly original composer-arranger whose music was prominent on CBC Radio for many years. His group, Nimmons 'N' Nine Plus Six, included Dave McMurdo (b 1944, Vancouver), a trombonist who later formed his own acclaimed jazz orchestra.
