Johnsons Landing

JOHNSONS LANDING, 70 km northeast of NELSON on the east shore of KOOTENAY LK, is a tiny farming (see AGRICULTURE) and LOGGING community first settled in the early 1900s. Until a road arrived in 1954, residents were connected to KASLO by PADDLEWHEEL STEAMBOAT. A Johnson's Landing is located on the north shore of the FRASER R (see DEWDNEY).
