KRALL, Diana Jean, jazz musician (b 16 Nov 1964, Nanaimo). As a teenager she moved from her home on VANCOUVER ISLAND to Boston, where she attended the Berklee College of Music on a Vancouver Jazz Festival scholarship. She was later discovered by the legendary jazz bassist Ray Brown—Ella Fitzgerald's husband—at a NANAIMO restaurant. She spent 10 years studying piano in Los Angeles, Toronto, Boston and New York.
