LAING, Arthur, politician (b 9 Sept 1904, Vancouver; d 13 Feb 1975, Vancouver). After graduating from UBC in 1925, he went to work for the Vancouver Milling and Grain Co and then for Buckerfield's Ltd. His political career began in 1949, when he was elected to the House of Commons as a Liberal in the riding of Vancouver South.
