LAM, David See Chai, real estate developer, philanthropist, lt gov 1988–95 (b 25 July 1923, Hong Kong; d 22 Nov 2010, Vancouver). He was the first CHINESE Canadian to serve as a provincial LT GOV. During WWII his family had to relocate from Hong Kong to Macao, where at age 19 he went into his father's coal-importing business.
