Lark


LARK is a ground-dwelling, SPARROW-sized bird inhabiting large fields and foraging for INSECTS and small seeds. Two species occur in BC. The horned lark (Eremophila alpestris) is found throughout the province and breeds over much of that range. In winter the highest numbers are found in the southern Interior, and in summer in the central Interior.
