Lee, Ronald Bick (Yat Yee)


LEE, Ronald Bick (Yat Yee), entrepreneur, community leader (b 1892, Toisan, China; d 22 Dec 1994, Vancouver). When he arrived in VICTORIA as a teenager he worked as a dishwasher. He then founded Foo Hung Co and prospered as an importer of Asian goods. He was also a philanthropist and leader in Vancouver's CHINESE community. His son, Robert H. Lee, a successful developer, was UBC chancellor from 1993 to 1996 and was named to the Order of Canada in 1999.
