Li Ka-Shing


LI KA-SHING, entrepreneur (b 23 June 1928, Chaozhou, China). His family fled to Hong Kong in 1940 to escape Japanese invaders and on the death of his father 2 years later he was forced to leave school and go to work. In 1950 he established his own plastics company, and eventually specialized in plastic flowers, the basis of his enormous fortune.
