MAILLARD, Keith, writer (b 28 Feb 1942, Wheeling, WV). After being active in the underground-press movement in Boston in the late 1960s he immigrated to VANCOUVER in 1970. He began publishing fiction in 1976, the year he became a Canadian citizen. His 1989 novel Motet won a BC BOOK PRIZE and his eighth novel, Gloria (1999), earned a GOV GEN'S LITERARY AWARD nomination.
