McKinnon, Barry

McKINNON, Barry, teacher, poet (b 13 Oct 1944, Calgary). He came to BC to complete an MA at UBC and in 1969 began teaching at the College of New Caledonia in PRINCE GEORGE. He began publishing his own poetry in 1967. One of his books, The the, was nominated for a 1980 GOV GEN'S LITERARY AWARD, his 1991 collection Pulp Log won a BC BOOK PRIZE and another collection, Arrhythmia, won the 1994 bp Nichol Chapbook Award, an award he won again in 2004 for Bolivia/Peru.
