McLEAN GANG was a quartet of young COWBOYS whose encounters with the law in the NICOLA Valley south of KAMLOOPS during the late 1870s have become the stuff of frontier legend. Allen, Charles and Archie McLean were sons of Donald McLEAN, a FUR TRADER with the HBC, and his mixed-blood wife Sophia; the fourth member of the gang was Alex Hare.
