McTAGGART-COWAN, Ian, zoologist (b 25 June 1910, Edinburgh, Scotland). He came to BC with his family at age 3 and grew up in N VANCOUVER. After graduating from UBC in 1932, he studied at Univ of California at Berkeley and in 1935 joined the staff of the provincial museum (now ROYAL BC MUSEUM), where he played an important part in reviving a flagging institution.
