Methodist Church


METHODIST CHURCH, which had its origins in the 18th-century Church of England, encouraged its followers to live a life of personal holiness, striving for spiritual perfection and publicly witnessing to their experience of God. The Methodist Church in BC existed as a denomination from 1859 until 1925, at which time distinctive Methodist churches joined in organic union with the PRESBYTERIAN and Congregational churches at the formation of the UNITED CHURCH of Canada.
