Midwifery


MIDWIFERY was practised unregulated in BC for many years. In Mar 1995 the provincial legislature proclaimed the Midwives Regulation under the Health Professions Act and the College of Midwives of BC (CMBC) was established as the regulatory body for the profession. The first midwives were registered to practise in BC on 1 Jan 1998.
