Monte Lake


MONTE LAKE, pop 68, is a farming (see AGRICULTURE) and LOGGING community 40 km southeast of KAMLOOPS at the north end of Monte Lk. Wilf Hanbury established the Ponderosa Pine Lumber Co SAWMILL here in the 1920s; it was sold to CROWN ZELLERBACH CANADA LTD and closed in the 1970s.
