Moresby Island


MORESBY ISLAND, 6.5 sq km, located between the SAANICH PENINSULA and the 2 PENDER ISLANDS, is one of the smallest GULF ISLANDS. It is named after Adm Fairfax Moresby, naval commander-in-chief on the BC coast from 1850 to 1853 (as is one of the main islands in the QUEEN CHARLOTTE ISLANDS).
