Moss


MOSS is a small green plant usually growing in dense clumps or carpets. Mosses are found throughout BC, blanketing the damp forest floors, covering rocks and stumps, coating the branches and trunks of trees and invading the lawns of suburban homeowners. They require water for fertilization, and because they lack complex vascular systems they absorb water and nutrients through the stem and leaves, which are usually only one cell layer thick.
