Nakimu Caves


NAKIMU CAVES are located in the Cougar Valley in GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, just west of ROGERS PASS. They are Canada's third largest cave system. The name derives from an aboriginal word describing the sound of water flowing underground. Discovered in 1904 by Charles Deutschmann, a prospector, they became a popular attraction for travellers on the CPR and guests at nearby GLACIER HOUSE.
