NEW DEMOCRATIC PARTY (NDP) of BC, a provincial wing of the federal political party of the same name, was formed in Oct 1961 at a VANCOUVER convention where the CO-OPERATIVE COMMONWEALTH FEDERATION (CCF) joined forces with organized labour (see LABOUR MOVEMENT) and adopted a new name.
