NGAN, Wayne, ceramic artist (b 19 May 1937, Guangzhou, China; d 12 June 2020, Hornby Island, BC). He arrived in VANCOUVER from China at age 13 to live with his grandfather and later attended the Vancouver School of Art (see EMILY CARR INSTITUTE OF ART & DESIGN). After graduating in 1963 he established his own pottery studio, taught ceramics at the art school and at UBC, and emerged as one of BC's leading ceramic artists.
