Nitobe Memorial Garden


NITOBE MEMORIAL GARDEN is a 1.2-ha traditional Japanese garden, considered the most authentic garden of its type outside Japan. Opened in 1960 on the UBC campus near the MUSEUM OF ANTHROPOLOGY, it was designed by the Japanese landscape architect Kannosuke Mori and named for Inazo Nitobe, an educator and diplomat, who died while visiting VICTORIA in 1933.
