Owikeno Lake


OWIKENO LAKE, 101.8 sq km, is a narrow body of water extending eastward into the COAST MTS from the head of RIVERS INLET on the Mid-Coast about 120 km northeast of PORT HARDY. Draining westward into the inlet via the very short Wannock R, it is situated in the territory of the OWEEKENO First Nation, now centred at the village of Katit. Extensive LOGGING has taken place in the watershed. See also LAKES.
