Paxton Valley

PAXTON VALLEY, a farming and ranching district (see AGRICULTURE; CATTLE INDUSTRY) 45 km east of KAMLOOPS, was named after Samuel Paxton, who settled in the area in 1872 after participating in the GOLD RUSH to the CARIBOO. He was followed by Joseph St Laurent in 1890. The valley runs east of MONTE LK along Paxton and St Laurent creeks.
