Quatsino Sound


QUATSINO SOUND is a deep, multi-armed FJORD on the northwest corner of VANCOUVER ISLAND. Its name derives from one of the 4 KWAKWAKA'WAKW (Kwakiutl) First Nations that occupy the area. The sound has 3 major arms: Neroutsos, Holberg and Rupert inlets; and 5 small communities: WINTER HARBOUR, PORT ALICE, COAL HARBOUR, HOLBERG and Quatsino.
