Seymour, Frederick


SEYMOUR, Frederick, governor of BC 1864–69 (b 6 Sept 1820, Belfast, Ireland; d 10 June 1869, Bella Coola). After serving 16 years as a colonial administrator in the West Indies, he arrived at NEW WESTMINSTER in 1864 to take up his position as governor of the mainland colony (see COLONIAL GOVERNMENT).
