Seymour, Mount


SEYMOUR, MOUNT (el 1,453 m) is the most easterly of the North Shore mountains opposite VANCOUVER, overlooking BURRARD INLET on the west side of INDIAN ARM. The first recorded ascent occurred in 1908. Skiing began in the 1930s and Mt Seymour Provincial Park (35.1 sq km) was established in 1936. Road access, completed after WWII, made it one of the most popular destinations in the Lower Mainland for hikers, skiers and naturalists.
