Shortreed

SHORTREED, or Shortreed's Corners, 33 km southeast of NEW WESTMINSTER in LANGLEY municipality, was an early farming settlement on the old Yale Road (see AGRICULTURE). John and Robert Shortreed arrived here from Ontario in the late 1880s. When the GREAT NORTHERN RWY built its line through nearby ALDERGROVE in 1908, Shortreed faded away.
