SMITH, Janet, victim in one of Vancouver's most notorious murders (b 25 June 1902, Perth, Scotland; d 26 July 1924, Vancouver). A nursemaid to the family of wealthy businessman Frederick Baker, she was murdered at her employer's home in Shaughnessy.
