SOUTHWELL, George, artist (b 1865, Bilbao, Spain; d 1961, Vancouver). He was raised in England in a well-to-do family, and after studying art in London he became a successful professional painter. In 1910 he immigrated to BC. He settled with his family in VANCOUVER and became one of the few professional artists working in the province.
