VANCOUVER SUN NEWSPAPER appeared for the first time on 12 Feb 1912. Associated with the LIBERAL PARTY, it was founded as a morning paper by John P. McConnell and R.S. Ford and for several years was one of 4 dailies in VANCOUVER. Robert CROMIE took over in 1917; as he expanded he bought out 2 rivals, the World and the News-Advertiser, and began publishing in the afternoon.
