Waldo

WALDO, on the east side of KOOCANUSA LK, 55 km southeast of CRANBROOK, was a busy SAWMILLING community on the CPR and the CROWS NEST SOUTHERN RWY. Baker Lumber and Ross-Saskatoon Lumber both had large mills here in the 1910s and 1920s. The settlement, little of which has survived, was named after William Waldo, a local rancher.
