WILLIAMS, David Ricardo, lawyer, writer (b 28 Feb 1923, Kamloops; d 29 Jan 1999, Duncan). After graduating from UBC law school following WWII, he practised for many years in DUNCAN and was made a Queen's Counsel in 1969. He also taught law at the UNIV OF VICTORIA. At the same time he indulged an interest in history, writing a series of biographies about important legal and political figures, including Matthew BEGBIE, the VANCOUVER mayor Gerry McGEER and the outlaw Simon GUNANOOT.
