Willow River

WILLOW RIVER, pop 197, a LOGGING and ranching (see CATTLE INDUSTRY) community on the Willow R, 27 km northeast of PRINCE GEORGE, is also a VIA Rail station. One of the first SAWMILLS on the new GRAND TRUNK PACIFIC RWY was built here in 1915; several others, long since dismantled, operated over the years. Many residents enjoy the rural setting but commute to Prince George for work.
