WOODWARD, Reginald Percival "Reggie," rugby player (b 8 Feb 1869, Constantinople, Turkey; d 6 July 1957, Vancouver). He arrived in VANCOUVER from England in 1887, helped to found the BC Rugby Union in 1889 and was active in BC RUGBY for 70 years as a player, coach and administrator. He excelled in local, national and international rugby until 1909, by which time he was known as "Mr Rugby."
