Vancouver Maritime Museum

VANCOUVER MARITIME MUSEUM, located in Vanier Park in the Kitsilano neighbourhood of VANCOUVER, opened in 1958 as a provincial centennial project. Among the permanent exhibits is a replica of the forecastle of George VANCOUVER's ship DISCOVERY, a collection of ship models, maritime paintings and other material related to the history of coastal BC. Tied up at the waterfront in the Heritage Harbour is a collection of historic vessels, including the vintage tugs Ivanhoe and Master, and the MAPLE LEAF, the oldest sailing vessel in the province. The RCMP vessel ST ROCH, a National Historic Site, is on permanent display next door.
