Nine O'Clock Gun


NINE O'CLOCK GUN is a cannon that has boomed across VANCOUVER harbour nightly at 9 pm since 1894, when it was installed at BROCKTON POINT in STANLEY PARK. It was originally intended as an aid to mariners in synchronizing their chronometers; now it serves as a convenient reminder to Greater Vancouverites to check their clocks.
