BCP No 45


BCP No 45 is a 14.3-m wooden fish boat, a table seiner, made famous by its appearance on the old Canadian $5 bill. Built for BC PACKERS LTD by Burrard Shipyard in Coal Harbour, VANCOUVER, in 1927, it was owned by Harry ASSU of QUADRA ISLAND from 1941 to 1959 and skippered by his son Mel. The $5 note featuring the photograph of the BCP No 45 was in circulation between 1972 and 1986.
